Do you have sales experience?
Are you comfortable with cold calling, upselling, and meeting quotas?
Are you already licensed? (If not, they check if you’re willing to get your OTL/LLQP depending on the role.)
It’s very straightforward — they mostly check if you can handle a sales-heavy, target-driven job.

I interviewed at Allstate in East Meadow in 2014 with Dan Ratkewitch. The interview consisted of a few standard questions you'd expect on any sales/customer service related interview. The initial interview went well and Dan allowed me to come back into the office for a short trial on the phone speaking to real potential clients. I thought that was very helpful and a practical way to gage if I could see myself doing this role full time. I wound up not pursing candidacy further but both portions of the interview were very fair, transparent and informativ.

Agency owner asked really good questions that forced me to think quick on my feet. One of the questions was "if I were blind, describe the color yellow.." He also picked up a flash drive and asked me to sell it to him.

More thoroughly interviewed than most insurance companies. Great questions but they want real answers not what they’ve already heard a million times. Questions about salary are always tough but don’t be afraid to ask for your worth. But be prepared to back it up
