Applied online. Received an email asking me to complete a short, one-way video interview. Week or two later had video call with hiring manager. This was a bit odd because I had not spoken to anyone in HR first, so my prepared questions were not particularly relevant for a hiring manager interview. About one week later was given an assignment. This assignment was a complete mess. There was core information missing in the email, such as due date. The instructions also did not clearly define what was expected. Obviously, they aren't going to list out everything step-by-step because you need to show that you understand your field, but these instructions were absolute garbage. It was impossible to know what I was supposed to produce, and despite the fact that I asked questions (which they tell you to feel free to do) around three or four times, I never received an answer. They were also completely unprepared, as the assignment required connecting to an API endpoint on their system. They clearly didn't spend even five minutes checking that the assignment worked before giving it out to candidates, because it was broken and took days for them to fix. Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable.

One-way video interview initially, followed by a virtual meeting with 2 of their employees. 1 employee was very nice and welcoming, while the other was the complete opposite. - The interviewer was prepared with predefined questions - The interview was very serious - The interviewers’ lack of preparation on me as an individual, and uncaring behavior created a tense and unwelcoming atmosphere. - The interviewers' dismissive attitude towards my responses was discouraging and disrespectful.
