I applied to a New Grad RN position that was posted on the website. It took a few weeks but I was contacted via email to complete an online critical thinking test. Once that was completed I was called to set up an interview. I interviewed with the HR recruiter as well as the unit manager and department head. I felt like the interview went well, it took about an hour and was asked the typical interview questions as well as scenario questions. It was like a board interview where they each asked questions. I did not get an offer for the position and was told it was because they like to hire from within. So my advice before going through the motions would be to ask HR those questions ahead of time before you get your hopes up of getting hired in Hawaii. This is a great hospital in a great community, just really hard to get your foot in the door. They advise to work as a tech prior to RN but to me that is underutilizing me and my abilities.
