I applied for a marketing role and after a couple weeks, a recruiter reached out to set up a phone screening. During the call, she only asked me two questions regarding my resume and then said that I was a better fit for the Graphic Design position (which asked for more experience that I didn't have). I ended up agreeing for my resume and information to be passed on from the recruiter to the hiring manager for that role. The recruiter sent an email first thing in the morning saying that I was rejected from the Graphic Design position. It was extremely obvious that she was just wasting my time and she wasn't interested in my application. Very unprofessional that I wasn't even hardly asked any questions and felt very rushed throughout the whole phone call. Overall, this was a waste of time.

The interview started off wrong with the hiring manager arriving late and appearing disheveled. We walked through a maze of dated cubes and file cabinets before we got to our interview room. We sat down and five minutes into our chat, the phone rung. The interviewer picked it up and glanced remarking who it was, but didn't actually answer the phone. As a professional, this pissed me off to no end because if the roles were reversed, the interview would be cut short. They scanned my resume as if looking at it for the first time, got annoyed by some texts on the cell then proceeded to ask questions that felt random and made up. The interview ended early due to a meeting and I couldn't wait to leave. I will never apply for another position with Advance Auto. Aside from this negative experience, there was hardly any gender or racial diversity. Overall, not a good first impression. NOT INTERESTED.
