Originally had a phone screening with HR for a position in Holland. MI, then set up a phone interview with hiring manager. Phone interview went smoothly and I was invited for an on-site interview. Commuted a long way for the interview, went well with no real hard questions and a tour of the facility. Got an offer from HR the next day (Tuesday) where I asked for benefits information and other small items. Was told by HR that she would send over the paperwork and submit my counter-offer to corporate. Heard back by Thursday afternoon at 5PM with good news, I "verbally accepted" the offer at this point and asked for benefits information yet again as I did not receive on Tuesday per HR. Was told that the information would be sent over ASAP... I did not ever get a written offer from this company, all the while the HR person was texting me on my personal number and not following up as previously stated during my calls with her via email.
Friday morning the offer was rescinded by HR because I "wasn't excited or committed to the job". Was told by the hiring manager that they needed someone to start in "exactly 2 weeks" to meet their needs, even though my tentative start date was pushed out to accommodate his vacation. I was told two different reasons why the offer was rescinded. Either it was never cleared with Corporate HR, or they offered the position to two people at the same time... Looking back on it, glad it all happened because this is clearly a toxic work environment to be in. Interviewers BEWARE of this company.
