Unstructured Interview Process — Questions Not Relevant
I recently interviewed for a DevOps Engineer role at ARRISE and was extremely disappointed by the experience. The interviewers asked a series of questions that had little to no relevance to DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or CI/CD practices. Despite the role clearly stating DevOps responsibilities, the questions felt random, vague, and more like a generic tech quiz than a structured technical evaluation.
There was no clear agenda, no system design discussion, and no practical or scenario-based questions about infrastructure automation, monitoring, or pipeline management. When I tried to steer the conversation back to DevOps-related topics, it was brushed off.
The overall process felt disorganized and lacked technical depth. For a company claiming to hire for such a critical role, I expected more professionalism and alignment between the job description and the evaluation criteria.
