After two phone interviews approximately one month apart, I waited another month for a confirmation of interest. They sent me a personality test, which I took immediately and returned. More time went by, a couple of wks maybe. I received an email that they wanted to interview me in person. A flight was scheduled a week from then for me to go to Columbus, OH. The flight and hotel were scheduled and paid for by Ametek. I'd have to take an Uber, taxi, or rent a car - any of which I would pay for and be reimbursed by Ametek. Over a 3.5 hr period I interviewed with 5 or 6 people, including the VP in charge of the area I'd work in. I was told I was one of three being interviewed but I assumed this. The last person I saw was HR who seemed as though they were interested. I was told I would hear from her, "one way or the other, by the end of the next week". I thought it might be longer as they had consistently taken a longer amount of time whenever they'd said I'd hear from them right away. So when I hadn't heard within 2wks time, I wasn't immediately worried. Needless to say, I was GHOSTED. No emails, no texts, no phone calls. Please know: I'm imminently educated, qualified, experienced (at a high level), had what I thought were fun and interesting interviews (I can get along with anyone), nothing in my background that should trouble them, and I was firmly capable of doing the job as described. I would've relocated, which I'd offered to do on my own dime. I was assured relocation wasn't an issue as each of the 3 candidates would have to relocate. So why was I ghosted? TBH, no idea.
