I had applied about a month and a half ago and they recently called me saying they were hiring for the fall. We set up an interview for the next day. The interviewer made me feel very comfortable and it made the interview a lot easier. He asked a few questions and then made me sell a stubs card to him. That part was pretty easy as my other job makes me sell something similar to customers. At the end of the interview he offered me a job and I accepted.

How are you with customer service and problem solving angry customers? It wasnt bad, a lot of what would you do if type questions. I got the job eventually. And it was my favorite.

Process is fairly easy. If they're interested in your online application, they do a phone screening. If you do well on that one, they call you in to do an interview for the specific theater. Most of the questions are personality based. They do have you have you pitch AMC Stubs just to get a feel of how you'd present it to customers. Not sure why someone said people get hired on the spot as I never came across a crew member that got hired immediately, even if they were short staffed. Typically it takes a couple days before they give you a response.
