Before the In-House Interviews Day:
Apr. 29
Recruiter finds my profile through LinkedIn and we arrange a phone call.
Recruiter calls me, we introduce ourselves and he explains me the interview process.
Also, I have to complete a technical document with my main skills, education, languages and projects.
May 3
Phone call with Business Manager. We talk about my educational background, technologies I have used, the Alten company, salary package, projects, work conditions etc. A few questions about OOP are asked.
I also get an email with everything we talk about and two possible roles with description, skills needed, main responsibilities etc.
The final step of the recruitment process is to go in-person in Sophia Antipolis.
I choose the latest possible day (June 4) - because I want to learn the technologies required for the two roles. Also, all my travel expenses will be reimbursed.
May 17
Business Manager asks me If I can complete a test in PHP online from codingame.com. I ask for a few days to practice on the challenges.
May 23
I complete the assessment and I inform the Coach Business Manager because Business Manager is on vacation.
May 28
I get the results back which are fine. I am asked if I can write an e-mail with detailed description about my job expectation. I do and I reply the same day.
In-House Interviews Day:
June 4:
Background Check with Business Manager
Lasts about 30mins and we talk about my skills/background and my technical document in detail
Black board Interview with Senior Developer
I must solve two problems in pseudocode on the black board and answer a few theoretical questions such as what is inversion of control.
Coding Assessment in Javascript
That is of my choice and I choose JS. The same platform as for the PHP coding test is used.
In between:
1) Tour of the building, working spaces and general info about research projects
2) Lunch
3) Update about salary package
Final answer, which is that Alten doesn’t want to offer me a contract without any positive feedback from a client since they don’t have many positions in PHP/JS.
