      Entrevista

It says all this on the actual Aldi scheme page but you have to complete an online application and various tests (statements and select the one which is most closely describes you and your work situation) that will assess your judgement (best and worst answer) and your analytical skills. This can take a while. If you are sensible and pass then you will be emailed to complete a timed Saville consulting aptitude test. The next stage is a video application which is a bit surreal as you are timed and just talking to your webcam, once the time runs out the answer is automatically submitted. These questions will be similar to previous ones and ask you to describe experiences that show how you overcome certain situations. Don't worry if you think it goes awful, I did and still got through to the next stage, which is an assessment centre. To prepare for this you are asked to conduct a store walk of an Aldi store and note everything that you can. Also speak to staff and customers as you will be asked this. This will come in handy as you will have to present a three minute interview on one of six topics: - Store layout - Customer behaviour - Staff - Product Range (excluding special buys) - Special Buys - Till operation You will first be asked to do a one minute introduction about yourself and describe your favourite Aldi product. I was probably too honest by saying I didn't have a favourite Aldi product because I had never shopped there before my store walk (they don't operate in my country). This wasn't very well received, they want you to blow smoke up their behinds, whereas I prefer sincerity. You will need to do your research and know Aldi inside and out and pretend that you really bleed Aldi and this is your dream job and you definitely have not just applied because of the £42k and the car. Next you will have to do a role play where you have a few minutes to assess four candidates to determine who you feel is bets for a role. Try to make a quick table of the key competencies so you can tick them off against each candidate. You will then have a minute to justify your choice. After this the group gets twenty minutes to deliberate and choose the best candidate together, be assertive! Also, if the names are the same, don't pick Sandeep, go with Kristen. As long as you can justify this. They are looking for confident people who can take the lead, which wasnt me (I don't like shouting over people). The final stage is an interview with the MD if you pass the group assessment. Sadly I didn't and I was quite dismayed that they don't give individual feedback. I appreciate the plethora of candidates but it's indicative of their company culture really that you expected to spend time (I travelled 792 miles in total for this interview), on a lengthy process without any indication why you've been rejected. It is actually a relief that I was as I don't think we would have been a good fit. I hope that this helps though. Good luck!

Application was straight forward Video interview was around 6 questions with one minute to think and one minute to record Online test were easier than most jobs on Penn resources- numerical, reading and pattern. Assessment Centre was two hours we discussed a topic for our store walk: Competitor analysis, branding and merchandise, Corporate social responsibility. Then we were given 4 CVs to read and select the best one based off skills, location, feedback. then I had the final interview: CV screening, I was asked who were therein stakeholders in my life, how I would deal with demands of the job ect

Overly lengthy application process. They are looking for a very particular individual regardless of technical experience or capability. If you have a group of people that are not particularly capable, It is almost impossible to do the group exercise properly without coming across as overbearing.
