Desde el primer día se integraron de forma natural en el equipo, demostrando que el talento necesita oportunidades reales. Ambos realizaron 400 horas de prácticas a través del programa “Juntos Somos Capaces”, impulsado por Binomis y la Fundación L’Heura, que ofrece una primera experiencia laboral a personas con discapacidad intelectual o trastornos de salud mental, promoviendo la igualdad de oportunidades. Actualmente trabajan 12 horas semanales en los días de mayor afluencia y afrontan esta nueva etapa con ilusión y ganas de seguir creciendo en JYSK. Seguimos apostando por la diversidad y la inclusión como pilares para construir equipos más fuertes y entornos más humanos. Porque cuando crecemos juntos, todos ganamos. 💙
Creemos firmemente que conectar talento joven con el mundo del retail es clave para construir futuro. En JYSK hemos impulsado nuestros Open Days, una iniciativa que convierte nuestras tiendas en Madrid y Comunidad Valenciana en aulas vivas: más de 450 alumnos de FP en Actividades Comerciales, procedentes de 28 centros educativos, visitaron 23 tiendas (9 en Madrid y 14 en Valencia) para vivir de cerca la operativa, la atención al cliente, la organización interna y nuestra cultura corporativa. Esta acción forma parte de nuestro programa estratégico de formación práctica y empleabilidad juvenil, con miras a incorporar alumnado en prácticas en cerca de 50 tiendas en ambas comunidades. De este modo, no solo ofrecemos una experiencia real en entorno profesional, sino que también establecemos un canal de atracción de talento joven para el sector retail.

We are taking a major step forward in our expansion across Spain and Portugal by appointing Grupo Bertolín as the main contractor for the construction of our new, state-of-the-art distribution centre in Almenara, Spain. 🏗️ Construction of the new distribution centre is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026. 👷 The new distribution centre, situated on a 274,000-square-metre plot in Almenara, will feature 182,500 pallet locations and will be certified according to the LEED Gold standard, including solar panels on the roof to provide energy for the facility. 💡⚡ The centre will also serve as the head office for JYSK Spain and Portugal, creating a new workplace for approximately 250 employees. 💬 “Our new distribution centre in Spain is a cornerstone for JYSK’s continued growth in both Spain, Portugal and Morocco. Entrusting the construction to Bertolín ensures that we have a reliable and experienced partner for such an important job. The success of this project depends on strong collaboration, and we are confident that Bertolín, together with AR Racking and KÖRBER, will help us deliver a facility that sets high standards for efficiency and reliability,” says Ole Thomsen, Executive Vice President Logistics at JYSK.

Five years later, at just 24, she proudly opened the brand-new store in Vejle C as Store Manager. Daniel Silva from Portugal started as a Sales Assistant in 2022 at age 21, worked his way up step by step, and is now Store Manager of Guimarães at just 24. 24-year-old Nickl Laan from the Netherlands also became a Store Manager at a young age. For him, it was all about trust. Today, his ambition is to progress further within JYSK – with District Manager as the next big goal.

Getting ready for the next financial year 🚀 As we prepare to kick off a new financial year in September, teams across JYSK, from our distribution centres to stores and head offices, are aligning on strategy, setting priorities, and planning for the year ahead. 📈 For instance, back in May, 24 colleagues from our Cheste Distribution Centre in Spain gathered near Valencia to dive into their business plan.
