Please join us in congratulating Sofia Walsh on her new role as Area Director of Memory Support Services on Benchmark’s memory care team! Sofia began her Benchmark journey in 2014. While working, she successfully completed high school, undergraduate and graduate studies, earning her Masters in Healthcare Administration in 2021. Most recently, she served as the Mind and Memory Director at Benchmark Senior Living at Hamden. Sofia's compassion for residents, support of fellow associates, and deep dedication to memory care make her an incredible fit for this new position. In her new role, Sofia will support and guide memory care programs across our communities—helping to implement effective processes, train new leaders, and uphold the highest standards of care. With over four years of dedicated service at Benchmark's The Village of South Farms community, Raquel has excelled as a Resident Care Associate (RCA) and quickly earned her promotion to Lead RCA! At Benchmark, sometimes the right roles find their way to the right people—just when the moment is right. Congratulations to Leia Foster on her well-earned promotion to Resident Care Director at The Branches of Marlboro! Since joining Benchmark in 2021, Leia’s quiet strength, deep compassion, and steady presence have made her a cornerstone of our care team. She’s been honored as a 2023 Benchmark Compassionate Caregiver and the 2024 Service Champion of the Year—and is often described as “the perfect fit” for leadership. Although she was initially hesitant to take the leap, her team saw her gifts clearly and believed in her wholeheartedly. Through their support, Leia came to see it too—and knew it was meant to be. We couldn’t be prouder to support her in this next chapter.
