Summit Microelectronics designs semiconductors for networking equipment that are designed to manage power consumption and detect component failures. Its programmable power management devices also go into automotive, consumer electronics, industrial control, and military/government applications. The fabless semiconductor company was established in 1997. Summit Micro has offices in Hong Kong, Taiwan, the UK, and the US. Among the investors in Summit Microelectronics are August Capital Management, Bessemer Ventures, and Norwest Venture Partners.
