Ventajas

Supportive faculty who encourage academic and professional development. Opportunities to mentor undergraduate students through recitations, labs, and hands-on research. Exposure to advanced engineering topics and access to strong research infrastructure. Flexible schedule that allows balancing teaching duties with PhD research. Constructive academic environment that helps build communication, leadership, and technical skills.

Desventajas

Workload can be heavy during peak periods like midterms and finals. Administrative processes (forms, scheduling, approvals) can sometimes be slow. Coordination across departments occasionally requires repeated follow-ups. TA responsibilities vary widely by course, leading to inconsistent workload. Limited compensation relative to the cost of living in the New Brunswick area.

Ventajas

co-workers are super nice, friendly and collaborative. Good flexibility in work arrangements. My immediate boss is nice.

Desventajas

Morale is quite low, and turnover is high. We are losing good people and goals are not being met. Senior Leader tell us to do more with less, and do not want constructive feedback. They don't lead by example, taking elaborate trips instead of being present and supporting staff. Rules don't apply to them. So disappointing, not what you would expect from a public university.
