Pay well and decent PTO

Desventajas

Outsourcing jobs to India. If you’re in revenue cycle position and don’t have face to face/phone access to patients then your job will be gone. They just let go HUNDREDS from around the country who worked for Ascension Healthcare and were outsourced to this company.

Amazing work life balance and flexible hours with many projects to learn from

No promotions, and the yearly pay increase is basically the inflation rate

Ventajas

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Desventajas

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
