Ventajas

Subsidiary of Apple Computer. All the benefits of being an Apple employee.

Desventajas

Old boy's company culture. If it comes down to your word against someone else who has more years with the company, you will lose. Don't bother going to HR with your issues. You will be disregarded. The person I talked to actually fell asleep for a good 30 seconds while I voiced my concerns. After a lot of the senior management was let go, encouraged to leave, or left/retired on their own, a bunch of people were promoted to managers and software architects who have no business being in those roles. No innovation happening. In the current state of technology, the company's niche is becoming, if it hasn't already, irrelevant. Implementing a FileMaker installation at your company most likely will require consultants that specialize in FileMaker. It's not a turnkey product. A lot of pride in QA engineers who identify a massive number of defects, but no one looks into the cause of the metrics.

Honestly, if you get in, it's a great company with a great group of people (non-managers, that is) and awesome lunches at a very reasonable price (under $5). Plus, having all the Apple benefits certainly helps!

Desventajas

Without ever having an employee evaluation and no advance notice, I was laid off. While this review may come off as bitter, I'll still say I enjoyed working here a lot, like the people, and did become a certified Apple developer. However, management has no feelings or people skills. It's a free for all with everyone fighting for their jobs, every single day. There is no security and zero trust. They promised me one thing when I was hired, and the exact opposite happened. Management holds finances so tightly they never tell any of the non-managers. Also, one of the director's never washed their hands after using the bathroom. You'd think common sense grows as one advances to managerial/executive levels, however, something was clearly amiss here.
