Ventajas
1. Master the art of flattery and shoe polishing—useful to safeguard your career in XP and even landing promotions. 2. Just do as you're told. It’s all about following instructions, not effort. Often that’s enough. 3. New hires get significantly higher salaries than loyal old-timers. It's almost like experience and dedication don't matter. If you're thinking of joining, now’s the perfect time. 4. No need to worry about retrenchment. As long as you're good at cozying up to the right superiors, you'll survive. You can even handle your own business during work hours. 5. Endless meetings with little follow-up action. Just show up, nod, and enjoy the easy life with few accountability. 6. Yearly appraisals are so poorly handled that even poor performance goes unnoticed. No punishment, no demotion—nothing to worry about if you're underperforming.
Desventajas
1. Working under the constant threat of the GM's outbursts. 2. Promotions are rare. New managers/supervisors/engineers are air-dropped in to replace those who wouldn’t play along with the GM's bullying tactics. 3. Don't count on a year-end bonus. The company's losses are as consistent as the lack of appreciation for your hard work. 4. Career development and training are lowest of priorities. 5. If you're not a fast talker, you will be penalised. This is EMS culture 101: actual work means nothing. It's all about how quickly you can BS your way through meetings. 6. Expect minimal raises and even smaller bonuses if you fail to keep your bosses happy, no matter how well you perform.
