Ventajas

*Disclosure that I worked for a somewhat recent Vector acquisition Great people and strong middle management. Depending on what product you support, you'll work with wonderful people and be led by class act managers. Healthy focus on work-life balance. Occasional mental health days. Decent to fair compensation

Desventajas

Vector's strategy for growth revolves around acquisitions. Cultural differences depending on what products you're involved with lead to acquisition silos and a lack of a communication between them. Lack of career growth opportunities despite frequent communication from management indicating otherwise. Conducted multiple rounds of layoffs without warning or cause.

Thanks for your feedback. Vector Solutions has grown through acquisitions and we are aware of the challenges these bring. We have launched a comprehensive Growth Pathways Program which provides all team members an opportunity to own their career and take advantage of available business opportunities - even if that means a lateral move. Unfortunately, the timing and communication of layoffs is a complicated process and be assured that we care for and respect all employees at Vector Solutions.

Ventajas

It's a job and some of the people are great, remote/hybrid work for some employees

Desventajas

There is literally zero incentive to work hard or even try above the bare minimum. No real career paths or progression, no bonuses, nothing. Individual goals mean nothing and do not connect to larger company goals. Leadership is feckless and has to revisit the same decision constantly or has to make a decision involving way more people than necessary which means the final decision is bloated and difficult to operationalize. The company goals are not clear at all so work priorities constantly shift to whatever leadership has most recently decided, through a committee, is most important. There is basically nothing in terms of company culture. People don't talk to each other about anything. There is no fun in Teams channels. This probably stems from all of the above, that people do not feel at all connected to the company because they know they are not going to get anything out of it. Oh, and the benefits are abysmal.

We will not dismiss feedback simply because it is difficult to read. We have meaningful work, a strong team, and a lot to be proud of, but we also have work to do. We appreciate your perspective and will continue working to make Vector a better place to build a career.
