Ventajas

The people have always been what has made the Mirror a good place to work throughout my time here - even in the inevitable bumpy spells. They care about what they do, want to do it well and have a good sense of fun. The digital team has expanded rapidly and has a rich set of digital skills. There is a lot of opportunity to find out about other parts of the digital team, the business overall and develop new skills, with in-house training available. It is always changing, and the team is constantly looking for new ways to drive the site forward. It is very egalitarian - everyone can have ideas, the editors are approachable and it is totally normal to be able to talk with them (which doesn't always sound to be the case in other companies). It is a very collaborative approach, with the team working together and encouraging each other.

Desventajas

Hours can be long - but when there's something big on you tend to want to stay anyway

Great collaborative working experience. A curious mix of veteran journalists and young, new media content creators.

Desventajas

Inconsistent standard of content. More interested in creating populist, engaging content than important culturally significant work.
