Ventajas

Fun group of staff, most of the supervisors are really nice, you get paid to ski, free season pass for employees, 20% off food when working, you can make tips teaching private lessons, after the first season you get to pick your own schedule, and if you need time off there are 500 instructors so it's usually not too hard to get someone to pick up your shift or trade with you. If you do the Hyland Way Clinic or PSIA/ASSI certifications your pay will bump up from $8.50 to $9.25 for the Hyland Clinic & $9.75 for PSIA/AASI Level 1. If you get PSIA/AASI level II or III it goes up even more to like $12.xx+ an hour. I think you get a 10 cents raise for each season you return as well. If you teach private lessons and no one shows up then you can get put on call and go free ski with a radio during the lesson until someone shows up which probably won't happen so you just get paid to ski for an hour and a half.

Desventajas

Instructors have 30 minute breaks between lessons and a 45 minute break for lunch, but are not paid for these breaks so if you work all day you are there 8 1/2 hours, but are only paid for like 6 1/2. Employees have to park in the shuttle lot. Starting pay is kind of low. The chalet is too small and overcrowded. First year staff will most likely have to work weekends teaching group lessons. Instructors have to buy their own uniform jacket. Skis get very beat up from teaching. Temp has to be below -20 or windchill below -40 in order for Hyland to close and lessons to get rescheduled, so be ready to teach in all conditions.

Loved working with this park. Staff are knowledgeable and positive, and there's always productive work to be done.

Desventajas

Pay is standard for a seasonal job, but difficult to live on.

Ventajas

Many available hours to work (if that's your sort of thing). employee food discount and free access to park. manager is understanding and willing to talk things out.

Desventajas

Most if not all of your coworkers will be inexperienced highschool kids, once they go back to school near the end of the season all available workers will be scheduled to insane shifts. if you're on morning shift you're on your own, in my experience there will be one senior employee on shift at the time doing something else, and they will not help you. no wifi unless you work in maintenance, the data is spotty at best and often times this causes conflict with the app used to clock in. NO TIPS the """tip jar""" is actually a donation bucket that goes to management and park upkeep, have seen my manager and shift leads take money out of it, order food, and then leave :(
