Ventajas
Able to gain work experience. Most co-workers were friendly and hard workers, especially those housekeepers. Although lacking in many other areas, the general manager did at least teach me some useful strategies to ensure guest satisfaction. Being given such a big responsibility of being alone to manage a 100-plus room hotel makes you learn fast and develop quick thinking skills! The HARD way!
Desventajas
Low wages, no raises ,benefits package not worth it for part-time nor full-time workers. Corporation is simply interested in turning a profit, could care less about the guest's satisfaction and much less about their employees satisfaction. Tries to save money in any way possible by cutting corners and not following all the standards it should. Advancement opportunities based on favoritism rather than ability.
