Ventajas
Get to work with lots of different technology on the WAN side. It's nice to telnet and ssh into the hardware whether pulling performance stats, programming a router or switch, or just looking at the configuratons. People are nice. The company has room for growth and expanding it's services. Company parties are top notch. Owners go all out and having a good time. The overall atmosphere seems fine. Not to stressful, not to relaxed. Business casual environment is great.
Desventajas
Check out payscale.com and you'll see that Socket pays well below the industry medium. There's definitely room to compensate the employees pay by being competitive with wages that at least meet the industry average instead of hosting parties and giving away gifts as a form of employee appreciation. A 50" big screen isnt going to pay my electric bill. Don't allow the employees to ever think it's a privelage to be employed by Socket. Super busy environment. Enough work to incease the staff by 25% and STILL keep a fast paced environment. Office space is like a sardine can. Could be do to the layout of cubicles though.
