The Victim Witness advocates and analyst are passionate about the services they provide to victims of crime. What they do is more than just a job. This group is out to make a difference.

Sadly, the environment is micromanaged by the executive director, Pat Mitchell. She puts all her energy into the education department, and doesn't acknowledge the Victim Witness department unless it's some how benefits the education department. All fundraising efforts and donations go into a "general" fund, making it seem as if it benefits the Victim Witness program too. That's far from the truth, very little, if any, funds go toward the Victim Witness program. The turnover rate is horrible. In a year's time, at least half a dozen people have left the organization, even some new hires quit shortly after coming on board. The Executive Director claims to have an open door policy, but that's far from the truth. She's not a fan of suggestions or feedback from staff. In her words, "we manage down, not up", when requesting to get staff input and feedback. Constructive criticism - she gave give it but cannot be given it. There have been staff complaints to the Board of Directors, but nothing. She talks down to the staff, and if she doesn't really care for an individual, you're black marked in her book. There are so many wrong at this organization that makes its a bad environment for an individual to work at, and the cause is an Executive Director who has not right being and Executive Director. Prior to joining the organization, she has no organization or executive director experience. Lastly, the organizations mission is "a community free of bias, bigotry, and violence, it starts here", and the Executive Director constantly talks about practicing empathy. Talk about being hypocritical. How can the organization claim this as their mission, when the Executive Director doesn't practice the bias and bigotry part within the organization, and practicing empathy, that's the biggest joke of it all.
