Ventajas
Shyft is a glowing example of what a healthy company for its employees looks like. They have amazing work-life balance, a compelling benefits package, and owners that actually care for your well-being and growth, whether you stay or leave. They offer competitive pay, benefits for employee growth and well-being, both professionally and personally, and their policies are very flexible. I've encountered no drama working at this company, but if you look at the personalities of people here it's easy to see why- the owners want to be your friend, and the coworkers want to immerse you in the tech stack so everyone can work together effectively. Any ego is thrown out the window for a collaborative workspace where you can freely ask questions and for help. On the other hand, while the company has a clear focus, it doesn't hound you to produce immeasurable amounts of progress every day. Of course, your duties should be fulfilled on a timely basis (as with any company), but they take your life into account with planning, and won't try to kill you with responsibilities. It's also a growing company- they are always looking for new opportunities for employees to find, and if you're not feeling great about something they aim to resolve it and see how they can help. If you're looking for a company that cares about you, Shyft really sets the bar high. I'm reminded of how grateful I am for the opportunity to work here all the time.
Desventajas
Any cons to having a small company would probably apply to Shyft as well, unavoidably. Since employees are interspersed throughout different teams, it's sometimes hard to get to know people from other teams, which they're working to resolve.
