Ventajas

-The compensation is excellent for the job. The salary is competitive and rent is paid for. As a student fresh out of school, you would be hard pressed to find much better right off the bat. -Excellent experience if you plan to be a teacher -Consistent hours, pays on time, rent covered -Working with children is incredible -The job is actually pretty easy. Put your head down, do you work, and enjoy the time you have working with your children in class. There can be a lot of "make work" in between that doesn't really matter to the students, only to the company, but once you learn the routine it becomes quite simple to accomplish. -Co-Teachers were amazing. Couldn't have done it without them. -Rewarding work: get to see your children's language skills progress

Desventajas

-Absolutely no training. The company promises two weeks of training at the beginning (at half pay) but this will not actually be provided to you. You will shadow other teachers for a day or two and then jump right in to teaching full classes, but you will still receive half pay. You will be expected to know what your doing. -Almost no foreign teachers stay on for more than one year: constantly changing staff means constantly changing office dynamics and training of new people -Forced to move from the apartment that was promised to us halfway through our contract without any compensation with less than a week of notice -No sick days: paid out of your own pocket -Way more obligations for kindergarten teachers than for evening teachers: these are two very different job positions, and while teaching in the evening has worse hours it also affords much more independence in one's work and the ability to teach the students how you see fit -Lack of effective management: no "middle management" to communicate with employees to overcome difficult situations -Aggressive Management: you will likely be yelled at, berated, and belittled by your boss, and if you talk back things will be 100 times worse. I don't know if this is just how things work in Korea, but my coworkers and myself were given very little respect by this company -No room for advancement. (You get an extra $100 a month if you sign on for a second year at the end of your first contract, and it would be difficult to get any more)
