Ventajas

Great benefits. Flexible work schedules.

Desventajas

Things can pile on your desk can start to pile up.. of course this is dependent on the department you're in. If you're serving 50-70 faculty and some staff members(like I did), then you can start to feel overwhelmed. I was an administrative assistant, but I should have been labeled as a faculty assistant as I was heavily involved with the faculty and their day to day requests. I also felt like a business assistant with the amount of accounting I was doing for the requests that came through. I think Rutgers needs to have clearer job titles going forward as the administrative assistant role can mean anything there.

Ventajas

co-workers are super nice, friendly and collaborative. Good flexibility in work arrangements. My immediate boss is nice.

Desventajas

Morale is quite low, and turnover is high. We are losing good people and goals are not being met. Senior Leader tell us to do more with less, and do not want constructive feedback. They don't lead by example, taking elaborate trips instead of being present and supporting staff. Rules don't apply to them. So disappointing, not what you would expect from a public university.
