Ventajas

They offer excellent salaries, and great benefits. for full-time employees. Job security is good, owing to the unions. Work-life balance is taken very seriously, even compared to other academic institutions.

Desventajas

The administration is completely dysfunctional at basically all levels. Extraordinary amounts of time, energy and money are wasted due to poor planning (or no planning), and failure to follow through on initiatives. Critical decisions are routinely made at high-levels with little or no input from the employees that are affected, causing extreme stress and massive amounts of wasted effort doing fix-up/catch-up jobs that could easily have been avoided with better planning and implementation.

Ventajas

co-workers are super nice, friendly and collaborative. Good flexibility in work arrangements. My immediate boss is nice.

Desventajas

Morale is quite low, and turnover is high. We are losing good people and goals are not being met. Senior Leader tell us to do more with less, and do not want constructive feedback. They don't lead by example, taking elaborate trips instead of being present and supporting staff. Rules don't apply to them. So disappointing, not what you would expect from a public university.
