A weekly later, RigUp laid off 25% of the workforce without any empathy and an inadequate severance package for the current economic state. This company is not a true tech company. It is a staffing agency with manual processes and considerable overhead. I worked for many tech companies in the past, and I have never seen a tech company that cannot even manage simple tasks such as invoicing. RigUp's business model will not be able to handle any foreseeable downturns since the 1099 population will be the first to get cut during the recession.
