Ventajas
The team (particularly the director level group) was smart and dedicated and the directors saved the company from disaster from as long as they could. The brand was fun, the discounts and sample sales broke up the boredom and it was great working in downtown SF.
Desventajas
The senior management team (3 different CEOs in a 2 year period) was a disaster = no vision, no leadership and lots and lots of bad decisions along the way doomed this company. There was terrible wasteful spending on IT project that went nowhere, expensive executives came and went with big severances, and the politics killed off many young bright people who went elsewhere.
