Ventajas

There are no pros about this job. If you want to work in a disorganized environment where they talk about each other all day then this is the job for you

Desventajas

No room for advancement. Management will hire new people for open shifts and not grant requests to others for changes in shifts. They seem to like to sweep issues under the rug and dismiss them. The job is hardly doing security work u walk around aimlessly for 30 to 45 mins. With no access to cameras when a wallet is stolen or a phone. People come to security and we can not help so you look like a big joke to employees. The rules change everyday but you will be the last to know when that happens, and there is no communication between anyone. Worse security and I use that term security loosely ever. I constantly get called for jobs as if I do not work any where else why doesn't anyone realize that. You have to email about your benefits and raises when normal companies know when it's time for your review and promptly do so. Oh and management loves to tell peoples business about why a person was late the list goes on and on, but I am tired of writing.

Ventajas

There are decent managers there that care about what they are doing; even if it is managing rent-a-cops. Lots of homework can be done working at a desk position though.

Desventajas

Poor communication. no reimbursement for parking, uniforms, or equipment. When I asked about reimbursement I was told that i wasn't an employee; I was a private contractor. Yet I was suspended from work like an employee even though on Pennsylvania's department of labor it clearly states that an independent contractor must satisfy two requirements: 1. "The individual has been and will continue to be free from control or direction over the performance of the services involved, both under his or her contract of service and in fact" and 2. "as to these services, the individual is customarily engaged in an independently established trade, occupation, profession or business".
