We are a small team and work very closely with each other every day and believe in having a consistent and professional attitude.
We can see how this behavior could come off as "fake" when we are friendly in front of the team; but very direct and honest on what needs to be improved on in an employee's performance, when we have confidential employee reviews every 6 months or 1:1's weekly.
Our intent with reviews and weekly 1:1's is to communicate on what is expected from employee's related to the position, performance, and overall professionalism.
