Too much office politics. Staff management is poor and unprofessional by relying on HoD's management skills. Rather than managing the department based on norm/work ethics, a personal preference and favoratism overrules. For a dispute among staff, management doesn't even interview both parties but hear one side story to make a decision. It encourages everyone to look for the HoD with flattering actions as HoD decides all based on a personal character juding based on gossip/biased opinion rather than professional procedures such as interviewing staff with HR attendance. Even a staff can have a full time study as well as a full time teaching. How can it be possible in a normal organisation? Too slow in decision making process. It sometimes takes a few months for a busines trip.
