Ventajas

Interesting customer locations throughout the world.

Desventajas

Middle management completely powerless and only information passers. Too top heavy with management. Dropping margins, increasing lateness for customer deliveries. If you want a 2.5-3% raise at best, this is your place to work. Performance/effort is not tied to raises. 6 Cardboard signs on all conference rooms for "Accountability, Customer Commitment, Invest in our Future and other BS" are all propaganda. New operations management just beats the drum harder and tries to squeeze out productivity from a procedure ridden company structure. The real issues of the company are not being addressed: under staffing of engineers and designers, late deliveries, employee training, hindering procedures, and low morale. Used to be a great place to work, now is turning into a barren wasteland of staff on edge, projects not meeting target delivery dates, customer complaints, and lack of trust in middle and upper management.

Ventajas

The company is owned by ITW and some things have been an improvement that came with their ownership. MTS has been a great company to work for and has had good management that was in many places promoted from within. Historically compensation was fair and at times well above average.

Desventajas

Sales professionals compensation has always been based on Salary being 50 percent and commission plans being 50 percent. However the new ITW compensation plan for the sales team in 2025 was implemented to minimize the amount of money that could be earned via commission during the fiscal year and designed to punish sales persons who did not make at least 100 percent of their goals by making them pay back commission paid out during the year. This is an unacceptable plan and borderline unethical. If you are seeking a sales job, my advice is look elsewhere.
