Ventajas

The work is rewarding and the programs, Seeing Stars in particular, really work.

Desventajas

The cost of instruction is so exorbitantly high, that it is not super accessible to families who are not as well off financially. Additionally, the pay clinicians make for providing the instruction is very low compared to what the client is paying.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Lindamood-Bell. We’re glad to hear that you found the work rewarding and that you saw positive results from the programs. We appreciate your feedback regarding the cost of instruction and clinician compensation. Learning center fees vary by location and are comparable to similar professional academic services. One factor influencing cost is our team-based instructional model—while clinicians work one-to-one with students, additional team members support each student through assessment, lesson planning, progress monitoring, instructional oversight, and communication with families. This model is designed to support high-quality, individualized instruction and meaningful student progress. Feedback like yours is important to us as we continually review our practices and work to ensure that instruction team members feel valued and supported. Thank you again for taking the time to share your perspective.

It’s great to try to help people, but…

Desventajas

They’re so set on their particular philosophical style, but realistically, it cannot be one size fits all. Clinicians who work there are NOT experts; they only get two weeks of training. And the sessions are extremely tight, with back-to-back students (just five minutes between each, leaving no time to prepare for the next one and no chance for clinicians to catch a breath). Lessons take place in cramped, mostly shared spaces, so everyone tends to be over-stressed. There’s no way that what is taught there, and the environment in which it’s taught, is worth what they’re charging families. Not to mention that the staff break room is like the size of a closet, and even in that tight space, many people just aren’t very friendly and hardly acknowledge your presence.
