In this position, you're basically just a customer service representative. You don't have any authority to fix any of the issues that occur, yet you are expected to by the customers and limited by management. The operations side has no incentive to do their job and fight against you at every opportunity. In addition, you're expected to be out in the field, but also available by computer and phone at all times. The computer systems are incredibly outdated and operations puts everything back on you to complete. It's impossible to complete all the paperwork in the outdated computer systems while driving, yet that is what is expected of you. You are basically set up to fail in this position. The best advice I have is do a mediocre job because otherwise you'll destroy yourself trying to do a great job.
