You will not be respected. Your input will not be respected. Your work will not be respected. Your work will be scarcely understood by those handing it down. You will be expected to compensate for this shortcoming by performing whatever they incorrectly believe the work to be. If you are a senior software engineer and they tell you they want a senior software engineer, they don’t want you. What they actually want is maybe the only job that *should* be offloaded to AI agents. A fake-results generating yes-bot producing 3kloc/mo of incomprehensible dreck until the client pulls the project out from under everyone because of the sheer quantity and expense of work wasted to produce nothing. These people will waste your time and talent enough to drive you to a sabbatical, and you’ve put up with some crazy work Don’t fall for their lies.
