Compensation is under market value. Minimal job security. Performance metrics are opaque and involve a lot of "hiding the ball." Individuals installed in places of leadership have "fallen up" to get there. Tension is palpable between the old guard and the new guard, toxic culture. Work life balance is not promoted by leadership - senior managers and above send non-urgent emails on the weekends and off hours and expect immediate attention. Little thought is put into the onboarding and rapport building process, which is unusual as many teams are fully remote. Company-wide process changes are rolled out without communication from senior leadership, leaving managers with no guidance on how to address their direct reports' questions. Organization was not in excellent health before the COVID-19 crisis, despite claiming otherwise. COVID-19 related layoffs, furloughs, and pay cuts disproportionately impacted the lower paid employees, leaving management and above untouched.
