Ventajas
Very nice co-workers, and leadership, especially in the CIG unit. Great work/life balance. You will learn the intricacies of various grant programs while also learning how to stay away from the dysfunctional mean people who occasionally inhabit the nooks and crannies within the organization. Those who remain after the Trump purge are really troopers and dedicated public servants without whom this country would fall apart. I was a recent hire, I knew I was next on the Trump chopping block so I opted to take the deferred resignation program.
Desventajas
Slow pace of work. You are doing very little actual "planning" work. Can be kind of boring. You're just making sure all of the check boxes are checked for the grant program.
