Ventajas
All of the staff (Program Managers, Associates, Global Managers) coordinating the cohorts are really hard working. You will learn a lot, fast. You’ll be exposed to many different Founders and get the chance to connect with them personally. It’s a fast paced environment so you can retain a lot of information about Venture.
Desventajas
Extremely unstaffed office. Employees frequently complain about burn out and stress. No work life balance or acknowledgement of that Poor communication and responsiveness from Managing Directors of the firm due to them not having time allocated for functionally of the office. Lack of transparency around career progression. No employee development programs or an attempt at offering development for employees. No metrics to track employee performance or growth. Power rests solely with the two MDs. You are simply there to execute the Program and cohorts on their behalf - which is a direct quote from one of the MDs. No overtime pay and you will frequently work over your hours. When cohorts are in session, expect to work unpaid over time at least 3days a week. No communication from higher levels on DEI/Diversity attempts Micro management from one MD, and complete lack of response from the other. No balance Frequent politics and conflict in office due to l imbalance of balance of power among higher level staff. Managers frequently yell and berate employees when they are overwhelmed. I’ve seen it happen many times. The entire team is young - and mostly women? on purpose - because they have no problem yelling at young women. Operations has no support. Associate level employee are expected to do manager level work Everyone talks among themselves about how negative the energy can be- but nothing changes because there is no transparency. Team is hesitant to communicate with upper levels. Nepotism can certainly play a factor here so be careful who you’re speaking to
