CHLA is very strong in upholding it's mission, vision, and values which guides its direction on how they provide care. There is a huge emphasis on the care and wellbeing of patients and families. If that is what you are looking for in an employer, then CHLA is the right place to be. You get to do work that actually makes an impact on the community.

Because there is so much emphasis of our work's impact on community and the patient, employees will get the short end of the stick. Professional development comes in the form of taking more work because teams are understaffed and being coveres up as "do it for the patients/the community" . Job promotions were never offered to me despite being in the same role for 4 years and always having exceptional remarks on performance evaluations. Pay also does not keep up with the market as it is based on the organization's current financial state. You can expect to stay comfortable and stagnant in your same title for years.
