Ventajas

Bio Rad has a large product line and acquire new products/companies regularly, therefore the company is growing, stable, cash rich and well know

Desventajas

The constant growth leads to confusion and inefficiency, there is a reluctance to accept change or move with the times. The management is old, you will find many employees with 20 + years 'experience' at Bio Rad. Generally they have found a niche for themselves and protect it vigorously - therefore the company is stagnant and lacks the ability to become effective or efficient - the only real growth is through acquisition. The opportunity to be creative, progressive or bring in improvements is therefore nearly impossible since you face constant resistance from the 'old school' army. The senior management appear unaware or unable or unwilling to address these issues and therefore the company will never reach its full potential and will trudge on as it has for the last 10 years being another 'me too'.

Ventajas

Lower level groups were great to work with. The job itself was routine enough that it was easy to learn. Its a great entry job as you have to pick up many skills in a short period of time.

Desventajas

Management has no idea what it takes to do the tasks they ask of us with little time. Everything is on rush and half the equipment is outdated and constantly failing. New equipment takes forever to validate, if it ever does. You're constantly asked to help other understaffed groups, even if yours is also understaffed. Communication does not go far with upper management as most of them are also overloaded with work and don't actually understand what is needed for jobs to be done.
