Ventajas
Pros:
- Elite leadership : There are hundreds of "security analytics" startups in Bay Area, (just check RSA conf.) Awake is among the most promising security startup. The 4 co-founders are all industry veterans (Oh yeah, you'd need these for Enterprise software startups ). They are all technologists, seasoned entrepreneurs, and very transparent about strategy and all aspects of the company.
- Great culture : nice and talented people. early employees are all from highly reputable companies. All founders are very accessible, and they WORK HARD too !
- Unique product : It's an analytics platform that will provide deep visibility into enterprise network traffics. Curious for more? Sign an NDA and learn more about Awake.
- Good benefits and stock options, and the bar for hiring is pretty high.
- Tapped into the top VC network : Investors from Greylock are super helpful and thoughtful. My concern about joining Awake was it’s a small startup and I might not be able to continue to grow my network like in my previous large companies. I was wrong. I actually grew my network much more and was able to meet the VC portfolios’ startups and find those similar minded entrepreneurs and technologists.
Desventajas
- Too many coffee machines : one expresso and one regular. (I am a green tea drinker)
- There are only about 10 unlimited / employee chosen snack choices. My last company has about 30+ snacks and 20+ drinks. I wish we could have more snacks soon!
