Ventajas
ALS is a leader -- probably THE leader -- in the field of dropout prevention and recovery. The schools they form and manage are providing an incredible service to the communities they serve, hope to the families they encounter, and positively impact (and in many cases may be saving) the lives of the students they educate. It's inspiring to work shoulder-to-shoulder with people who are this motivated to do well by doing good. This is an opportunity for people who have a calling as educators, a heart for kids and families, and a desire to make a difference in the world. It's also a company that has strong, compassionate women in leadership positions, and is very diverse simply by nature of the work it does (and where it does it). There's something special here.
Desventajas
It's hard work -- but it's very rewarding. Results are not always seen immediately -- but the good you do WILL be recognized and valued. The atmosphere can be very demanding -- because the work is so important.
