Entrevista
Unfortunately my interview experience wasn’t great. I wasn’t initially looking for another opportunity but was contacted by an external recruiter (staffing agency) on LinkedIn about the HR opportunity. It sounded interesting and so I agreed to an interview. The Staffing Agency set me up with a phone interview with an internal eXp Recruiter. The phone interview went well (I thought) and the Recruiter stated they were excited about me and were passing me on to the hiring manager. I was told I would hear back on an interview with the hiring manager in the next day or so. Following the phone call, I sent a “thank you” email to the Recruiter. I didn’t get a response, which is fine but I never heard back on nexts steps or if they were moving in a different direction. I followed up with the Recruiter a week later via email and again didn’t receive a response. I’m okay if they decided not to move forward with me (since I wasn’t actively looking anyway) but it would be nice for them to let me know and respond to emails, especially since they contacted me initially. Very odd and not a good candidate experience.
I applied online and received an email from a recruiter they have on staff for a 30 minute introductory call. The interview lasted 10 minutes and he basically asked me if all of the information on my resume was accurate. I had a few questions for him about the company and the role but he wasn't able to answer much.
I was then asked for a second interview with the Director of HR. When I interviewed with her, it was an amazing interview. She was very nice and thorough with her questions and expectations of the role. The interview was over an hour long and it was honestly one of the best interviews I have been a part of.
I was then asked to interview with the VP of HR. Before the interview, the Recruiter called me and asked me quickly if I knew anything about Development and Tech. We ran through a bunch of questions quickly and he kept telling me the VP and Director had different expectations of the HRBP role. I went into the interview with the VP who was not friendly and a little condescending. The interview lasted 20 minutes. I was extremely put off by the interview with the VP so I called and texted the Recruiter that I no longer wanted to be considered for the role. The Recruiter never contacted me again to gain any feedback. Even though my interview with the Director was great, overall the process was messy and off-putting.
