First stages of the interview were awesome - technical folks were great to talk to and the tech test was fun to do and they were impressed with my implementation. I got a Team Lead job offer. I travelled from abroad to Wellington after the offer to meet the team and chat with management: it was awful. Engineering manager was contradicting what HR had offered me, saying I couldn't be the team lead. The rest of the team seemed suppressed by this guy and completely checked out. Horrible atmosphere, so I declined the job after returning home.
