quick, not well structured. Seemed like they wanted to evaluate you but dod not know how to describe what they want. Felt like a shot on the dark with the design challenge.
The worst interview process I’ve experienced.
1. The interview process lacked transparency and did not respect candidates’ time. The technical interview, presentation round, and design critique all felt very last-minute and unstructured, with little visibility into what to expect. I had already accepted another offer and declined Whop’s interview. One reason was that the recruiter assured me the interview process would require less time commitment, but in reality, it turned out to be the opposite.
2. Some interviewers came across as lacking empathy and respect for candidates, and their approach felt unnecessarily confrontational. Rather than trying to understand the reasoning and trade-offs behind my design decisions, some questions seemed intended to put me on the spot. Even after I acknowledged the technical constraints and explained that my experience came from working in a large tech company with different engineering limitations, the discussion remained focused on challenging my answers rather than having a constructive design conversation.
