I explained that I work closely with the Product team to make sure we capture data from user studies and facilitate Federal requirements where need be. I have done so in a highly regulated space, and even engaged agencies to facilitate such studies. The fact that I did not, directly, take point on the studies itself was a deal breaker for this hiring manager.
