I don't believe there is just one architecture to consider and so my response was that a lot depends on the requirements. Every problem is different and one should not be stuck with just one way of solving a problem. For them this was the wrong answer. They use a cookie-cutter approach so they can re-use code. They are looking for an answer that corresponds this. One size fits all. Give them an answer that has lots of OO jargon and they will want to continue talking.
