**Interview experience: 2/5**
The interviewers themselves were excellent. I had positive conversations with the hiring manager and wider team, and the role itself was genuinely exciting. The interview questions were thoughtful and focused on commercial strategy, product-market fit and building a venture within a large organisation.
Unfortunately, the recruitment process was one of the most poorly managed I've experienced.
There were multiple scheduling changes, long periods of radio silence and several occasions where interview dates were discussed but never confirmed. I invested a significant amount of time preparing a presentation for the final stage and even interrupted a family holiday abroad to accommodate the interview after trying to remain flexible throughout the process.
Following the final interview, I received no update whatsoever. After waiting three weeks, I emailed to request feedback and simply to understand the outcome. That email also went unanswered.
I fully appreciate that recruitment priorities can change and that hiring managers are busy. Candidates don't expect to be successful every time. What they do expect is timely communication and the courtesy of closure after investing considerable time in a multi-stage interview process.
It's a shame because everyone I met came across as intelligent, friendly and passionate about what they were building. My criticism is directed entirely at the recruitment process, not the people I interviewed with.
