      Solicitud

Solicité el puesto a través de un captador. El proceso duró 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Verizon (Lake Mary, FL) en may 2014

      Entrevista

I was contacted by several recruiters over the span of 9 months, to fill one of their roles in the new Accounting Center of Excellence. I was told in my initial contact that my salary requirements were too high and I finally caved 9 months later and decided maybe a pay cut would be worth the opportunity. After reviewing all the openings with the recruiter I told him I wasn't interested in the Lead Systems Specialist role and I would only do a face to face interview for the Supervisor Systems Support- I didn't want to waste anyone's time. The recruiter said Verizon was aware of that and I should expect the interview to revolve around the Supervisor role. I interviewed with six people during four 30 minute sessions. The interviews were very positive and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting with each person. About 3 hours after I left the Verizon office I received a call from the recruiter saying Verizon was going to extend an offer to me. I would have 2 days to take a drug test and accept the position. After a 30 minute discussion over my salary and how they "might" be able to match my salary after a 10% bonus I said to the recruiter, "Nobody has confirmed the job title and responsibilities". The recruiter told me the position I was being offered was the Lead Systems Specialist role- the position I already told them I wasn't interested in. Either the recruiter was providing lip service or Verizon didn't care. In the end I was told I didn't have enough managerial experience to be considered for a Supervisor role and that if I didn't take the Lead Systems Specialist role I would never be considered for Supervisor role at Verizon- they would fill any vacancies by promoting. Summary: When they call you in saying they are interviewing for multiple positions- they aren't lying. During the interview be sure to ask the interviewer which position they are considering you for. As a professional it is a little off putting to be considered for "multiple positions". Surely, your history and skillset highlight an ideal position for you to interview for.
